Middle school or high school teachers are eligible to develop a grant proposal for an action civics project that will enhance or expand civics education for students. A central office curriculum leader must approve the curriculum proposal before it can be submitted. Grants are awarded to the school district for the purpose of administering the money for the awarded project.
Some examples include: field trip money, entrance fees for students, consultant fees for leadership development for students, fees for a special program for students, a professional development experience for teachers that will help them offer action civics curriculum.
